Self-contradicting reason (विरुद्ध हेतु )
'Snake venom is edible because it is poisonous'
In the above argument, we try to prove the edible nature of snake venom. The reason given, is its poisonous nature. Poisonous nature and edibility can never coexist. Thus the reason only helps in contradicting the thing to be proved. Such a reasoning is called Self-Contradicting reason. Thus , a reason , which only serves to contradict the thing to be proved is called self-contradicting reason.
