Unestablished Reason (असिद्ध हेतु )

Unestablished is subdivided into many categories. Let's see two of them.

In the argument,
'The Lotus in the sky has fragrance, because it is a flower like ordinary lotus'

Here the Paksha is 'Lotus in the sky'. But lotus doesn't exist in the sky. Thus the reason is unestablished with respect to the Paksha.

Examples

An example for this type of defective reasoning is
'Sound is a quality because it is visible'

Sound doesn't have visibility. Thus even the reason is unestablished.
